The story is about Tim Thomsen’s experience in India. Tim is half Danish and half German, born and raised in Denmark close to the German border.
While studying for his bachelor degree, he went to India for his internship. He wished for something completely different and that is exactly what he got.
The first bit of the new culture was obviously culture shock and at that moment Tim was ready to hop on the plane to go back home. Luckily, he stayed through the first hard bit and experienced the best times of his life.
During his stay in India, he went on business trips, tried new food cultures, accidentally dropped curry on his very first meal outdoors on his coworker (you can’t wash it off), and spoke German, Danish and English while working in India. Tim even explains how unusual the train station system was - nearly the same as in the airport with all the security check ups on your stuff. Let’s not forget the fact how crowded and diverse the country is. It has many different cultural insights with a population of 30 million people in ONE city!
Tim explains his ups and downs, how he overcame cultural shocks, transportation, living rent free in exchange of attending his landlords clubs and of his regrets of not visiting and seeing more cities in India.
